Regular sized ties measure approximatly 56″-58″ in length and have a width ranging from 3.25″ to 4″. European necktie designers typically make their necktie designs slightly more narrow. Besides this, there is the retro looking skinny tie. The skinny tie has the same length, but is only 2″-2.5″ in width.
Size of Extra Long Ties:
Extra long ties are typically 2-3″ longer than regular sized neckties. The most common length of the XL necktie is 60″ and will be a great fit, even if your height and neck-size combination is 94″. Even larger tie knots that use more of the tie’s length will work for you when wearing a 60″ length necktie.
A few manufacturers even offer an XXL version that adds another 2″ to the tie’s length. Only very few people will require such a necktie. If your height and neck-size combination is 96″ or more, then the XXL version is a good choice.
